Frequently Asked Questions
What is an E-Tune?
An E-Tune is a custom calibration for your vehicle's Engine Control Unit (ECU) performed remotely. You provide datalogs of your car running, and I analyze them to make precise adjustments to fueling, timing, and boost. We repeat this process until your tune is perfectly dialed in for your specific car and modifications.
Is tuning safe for my engine?
Safety is my #1 priority. I take a conservative approach that prioritizes engine longevity while still making significant, reliable power. Every adjustment is data-driven, and I build in multiple safety nets to protect your engine under all conditions. My 15+ year track record is a testament to this safe approach.
What do I need to get started?
You will need a Cobb Accessport for your specific Subaru model. This is the tool we use to flash tunes to your car and to record the necessary datalogs. You will also need access to a safe, straight, and flat road or a dynamometer to perform the wide-open-throttle pulls for datalogging.
How long does the tuning process take?
Most tunes are completed within 3-5 revisions. I have a 24-hour turnaround time for map revisions on business days (Monday-Friday). The total time depends on how quickly you can provide the requested datalogs. Most customers are fully tuned within a week.
